It is my Vivaldi anniversary, yay!

Four things I’ve learned at Vivaldi in the last year:

It is my Vivaldi anniversary, yay! I can’t believe I’m celebrating my first year in this company and I’m so happy that I’m at the right place. I’m having so much fun at my work that it doesn’t feel like work.

For those who don’t know me, my name is Ari and I’m a part of the marketing team and I’m in the video department. You will usually find me at Vivaldi’s studio in Oslo.

In this year I have learned so much about Vivaldi but also about the people that are building this browser. That is the reason why I decided to share with you 4 of the things I’ve learned about the Vivaldi browser this year.

Your browser can definitely change your rhythm in productivity:

If I can be more productive you can also. I had never thought about this, but the decision of which browser to use can define your productivity rhythm. How had I not tried this before? That is the question that always comes to my mind when I discover a new vivaldi feature.

Here are my favorites:

For me the web panels are a game changer, everything happens much faster when you have your favorite applications so close to you.  I love the panel so much, it makes my life easier. In the last month I am appreciating having the private vivaldi translator integrated into the panel.

When you speak three languages and have doubts, having the translator so close changes everything.

I’m that person who has a lot of open tabs, tab tiling where have you been all my life?

I assure you that this has to be one of my favorite features. I’ve been a tab ninja lately.

This year I became much more organized, Vivaldi is my second brain.

Everything is organized in my profiles, in my speed dials, in the colors that I like.

Everything in Vivaldi you can make it yours.

We need to talk, that band-aid that you use to cover your laptop camera is not enough:

This is such an awkward conversation, but the fastest the better: YOU NEED TO START TAKING CARE OF YOUR DATA.

One year ago I WAS HOPELESS on this topic. It’s hard for me to talk about this because I feel like I was being manipulated by social media ads. A year ago I used to buy all the products that instagram, facebook and youtube ads recommended to me, just taking advantage of my needs they were using me in their own way exposing me to those curve plus pants, or weight loss apps that I didn’t need it and they made me feel worse.

Now I am much more careful about what products I decide to use, there are a lot of good alternatives on the market that are trying to take care of you and your privacy.

“I have nothing to hide” every time someone says this phrase I have a bad feeling. I know you have nothing to hide, but they know everything about you, and also about your partner, and about your neighbor, and the whole neighborhood and everyone in the city and in the country. And then it becomes a big problem. I love that Vivaldi takes this seriously. We don’t need more surveillance, we need more privacy.

The Vivaldi community OMG I LOVE YOU GUYS

We have an amazing community, I have seen it up close, translators, ambassadors and moderators. This community is absolutely amazing.

Kudos to the Linux Vivaldi community have a place very close to my heart. Let them know that every time I make a Linux video I do it with all my heart because I know there will be a community supporting it. You guys are the best. 🐧🐧🐧
